A ridge of high pressure is extending towards the Adriatic from the northwest, while a low is expected to shift from northern Africa towards the Ionian Sea.

NW winds 4-14, in places up to 18, turning overnight to NE and strengthening to 10-20, in places up to 26 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 20 km. Fine or fair, in the South Adriatic clouds increase with a chance of rain, in the far south of isolated rain showers and thunder.

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, easing a little during the forenoon. Sea increasing to slight and moderate. Clouds increase with scattered rain in the South Adriatic and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the far south.
