LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-40, STRENGTHENING AND TURNING IN THE NORTH, DURING THE NIGHT IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, TO NE WINDS 35-60, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 80 KNOTS, SPREADING TO THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC TOMORROW DURING THE DAY AND REACHING 35-45 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5 IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL TOMORROW.
Synopsis
The trough with cold front has approached the Adriatic from the northwest and it is expected to shift southeastwards and the ridge of high pressure to intensify from the north during the night.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
SE winds 12-24, turning in the North, during the night in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, to NE and strengthening to 16-32, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Sea gradually increasing to 3-4, in the North Adriatic late in the night to 4-5. Visibility 5-15 km. Heavier cloud increase with rain, showers and thunder, firstly in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic, where more abundant precipitation is possible.

Elsewhere moderate to strong SE, gradually turning during the day to moderate to strong NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, locally in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to rough. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, in places even with more abundant precipitation. Partial clearing in the North Adriatic during the forenoon.
