Synopsis
The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northwest, while moist air is inflowing in high level southwestern stream.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel this morning still up to 20, strengthening in the North Adriatic toward the end of the day and during the night to 10-20 knots. Elsewhere SE and E winds 4-14, briefly up to 18 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Fair or mainly cloudy, still with a chance of a little rain or a few spotty showers with thunder through the day. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic.

In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to moderate to strong. In the South and Central Adriatic light to moderate SE winds easing and turning to light, only in places up to moderate NE, toward the open sea to NW. Sea smooth or slight, in the southern part of the North Adriatic in the second part of the night possibly up to moderate. Fair or mainly cloudy, still with chance of a little rain or a few spotty showers with thunder today, mainly in the southern part of the Adriatic.
