IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON A CHANCE OF GUSTS OF NW WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL LATER ON, GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.
Synopsis
The trough with frontal disturbance is slowly shifting across the Adriatic eastwards, while the ridge of high pressure is expected to intensify from the northwest during the night.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NW, in the extreme south of the Adriatic at first still S and SW winds, 6-16, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 10-20, in places briefly up to 24 knots, easing a little late in the day and during the night. Sea 2-3, in the open of the southern part possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.
Weather forecast for the next 12 hours
Light to moderate NW, along the coast NE winds. In the North, then gradually in a part of the Central Adriatic, NE winds strengthening to moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the North Adriatic increasing up to moderate. Variably cloudy in places with a chance of rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly along the coast.
