IN THE NORTH, THEN IN THE CENTRAL, AND IN THE AFTERNOON IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. A RISK OF FOG PATCHES IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC.
Synopsis
The trough with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while the ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
In the North, then in the Central, and in the afternoon in the South Adriatic as well, NE winds strengthening to 8-18, in places up to 22, and in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South Adriatic in the morning, and in the open of a part of the Central Adriatic at first, still NW winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, locally still 3-4 today. Visibility 10-20, locally in the North Adriatic 4-10 km due to mist, and toward the open sea possibly less than 1 km due to fog. Clearing, firstly along the coast, but in places still variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or a shower with thunder, mainly toward the open sea and in the extreme south of the Adriatic.
Weather forecast for the next 12 hours
Moderate to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE winds, easing gradually in the second part of the night to light to moderate, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still up to fresh. From the middle of the night toward morning in the North Adriatic NE winds will gradually turn to light to moderate SE. Mostly clear, but in the North Adriatic a new gradual cloud increase and a risk of mist or fog during the night.
