IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, TOMORROW MORNING IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC OF SE and S WINDS, 35-40 KNOTS. A CHANCE FOR LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY FROM THE MIDDLE THE NIGHT, DURING THE DAY MAINLY IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.
Synopsis
The ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening gradually, the shallow low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is slowly filling up, while a new trough is approaching from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE winds 4-14, in the Velebit Channel up to 20, dying away in the afternoon and turning during the night, firstly in the South Adriatic and in the open sea, to SE, and strengthening to 8-18 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Partly clear, in the open sea cloudy with a chance of scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the South and Central Adriatic. A new heavier cloud increase with rain and with a chance for isolated rain showers and thunder expected toward the end of the day and during the night.
Weather forecast for the next 12 hours
SE and S winds strengthening to fresh, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to strong. Sea smooth or slight, in the southern part toward midday strengthening to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a chance for isolated rain showers with thunder.
