LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC FROM MIDDAY, IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL DURING THE NIGHT, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT 4-5. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, FIRSTLY IN THE NORTHERN PART, TILL THE END OF THE DAY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL.

SYNOPSIS

The trough with frontal disturbance will be shifting slowly across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 12-24, turning in the North Adriatic from midday and in a part of the Central during the night, to NE and strengthening to 14-28, in places up to 32, and in the Velebit Channel up to 36 knots. Sea 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mainly cloudy with rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, firstly in the northern part, till the end of the day in the rest of the Adriatic as well. More abundant precipitation is possible in the North Adriatic.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong SE winds, easing in the second part of the night to light to fresh and turning toward the open sea to SW. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic possibly up to rough. Mainly cloudy with rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.
