LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-75 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY 5, IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH ADRIATIC POSSIBLY UP TO 6. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The trough with frontal system is slowly shifting further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and N winds 20-30, in places up to 40 knots, easing gradually in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day. Sea 4-5, in the open of the South Adriatic possibly up to 6, calming in the North Adriatic in the afternoon. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing is expected there as well in the second part of the day.

Moderate to strong, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still up to gale force NE and N winds, grdaually dying away in the northern part of the Adriatic and turning around the middle of the night to light to moderate SE, while in the rest of the Adriatic easing to moderate and fresh, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still up to strong in places. Sea slight and moderate, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic rough, calming gradually. Mostly clear.
