THIS MORNING STILL A RISK OF FOG PATCHES IN THE CENTRAL, AND PARTICULARLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. LATE IN THE AFTERNOON AND IN THE EVENING, AND PARTICULARLY DURING THE NIGHT, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS, STRENGTHENING RAPIDLY TO 35-75 KNOTS. SEA IN THE OPEN INCREASING DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 5, TILL THE MORNING UP TO 6.

SYNOPSIS

The field of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening briefly and a cold front is approaching from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW, in places along the coast NE winds, 5-15, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic NW strengthening up to 22 knots. In the evening wind is expected to turn all along the Adriatic to NE and N and to strengthen rapidly to 15-30 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic in the afternoon 3-4. Visibility 5-15, in places this morning still possibly less than 1 km due to fog. Fair or mainly cloudy, in the North, in the evening in the extreme south of the Adriatic, variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain.

Fresh to near gale force NE and N winds, in places NE strengthening up to gale force. Sea slight and moderate, then in the open up to rough, till the morning up to very rough. Clearing and significantly colder. In the extreme south of the Adriatic variably cloudy, still with rain in places.
