SYNOPSIS

The trough is slowly withdrawing from the South Adriatic eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from western Europe.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 12-24, in the Central and South Adriatic up to 36 knots, dying away west of Istria around midday. Sea 3-4, locally in the open up to 5, calming west of Istria to 2-3. Visibility 20 km. Variably cloudy, in the South Adriatic and locally in the open at first still with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder.

Moderate to near gale force NE and NW winds, particularly in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic. West of Istria light variable winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic up to rough. Fine or fair.
