LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC UP TO 60, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AND IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC UP TO 70 KNOTS, EASING LATER ON. IN THE NORTH AND SOUTH ADRIATIC SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 14-30, in the extreme south of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel up to 40, easing to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel to 26, in the extreme south of the Adriatic to 30, and turning locally in the open to NW. Sea 3-4, in the North and South Adriatic at first possibly up to 5. Visibility 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the extreme south of the Adriatic still a risk of light scattered rain at first.

Mostly clear. Moderate to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to strong, in the extreme south of the Adriatic up to near gale force NE winds, further easing to light, in the Velebit Channel to moderate, and in the extreme south of the Adriatic to moderate to strong. Locally in the open sea light to fresh NW winds. Sea calming to smooth and slight, in the extreme south to moderate.
