LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 70 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AT FIRST STILL GUSTS OF SE and E WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

The low is slowly shifting from the Tyrrhenian Sea southwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds strengthening to 12-24, in places up to 28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 12-24 knots. Sea 3-4, in the Velebit Channel possibly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with rain or isolated rain showers and thunder mainly in the open sea and in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic around midday.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the Velebit Channel possibly up to rough. In the North Adriatic fine or fair, in the rest of the Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of rain or showers, but partial clearing is expected there as well in the second part of the night.
