IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NW, IN THE SOUTHERN PART AT FIRST OF SW, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL OF NE WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS, EASING THROUGH THE DAY. FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA 4-5. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

The low with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a new deep trough is approaching from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW, in the northern part of the Adriatic NE, in the southern part at first still SW and SE winds, 8-18, in the Velebit Channel up to 22, and in the open of the South and Central Adriatic up to 28 knots. Winds expected to ease in the northern part in the afternoon and in the rest of the Adriatic till the end of the day. Sea 3-4, calming briefly in the North and Central Adriatic in the afternoon and toward the end of the day to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably and mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, along the coast of the northern part of the Adriatic still with a little risk of sleet and snow in the morning.

SE winds strengthening rapidly to moderate to strong, from the middle of the night up to near gale force in places. Sea slight and moderate, locally from the middle of the night possibly up to rough. Variably or mainly clouy with rain, showers and thunder.
