SYNOPSIS

The deep low is shifting from the Ionian toward the Aegean Sea, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying briefly from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 18-28, in places up to 34, and in the Velebit Channel up to 42 knots. Sea 3-4, toward the open and in the Velebit Channel 4-5. Visibility 20 km. Variably cloudy, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, and with a risk of sleet along the coast.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Strong and gale force NE winds easing gradually in the northern part of the Adriatic. Sea slight and moderate, in the open up to rough. Variably cloudy with a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, along the coast of the South, during the night of a part of the Central Adriatic, with a risk of sleet. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic.
