SYNOPSIS

The broad field of low pressure is slowly shifting across the Adriatic further eastwards, while a new deep low is generating over the western Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW and NE winds 6-16, in the rest of the Adriatic SE and SW 6-16, in places at first still up to 20 knots. During the night SE and E winds strengthening to 8-18, in the North Adriatic NE 14-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, and along the coast of the North Adriatic with a risk of snow.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate, only in places up to fresh SE and E, in the North Adriatic moderate to strong NE winds, in places up to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force, gradually spreading to the Central Adriatic. Sea increasing to slight and moderate, toward the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, but precipitation is expected to end along the coast.
