IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT UP TO 65 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

The broad field of low pressure is slowly shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a new deep low is generating over the western Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW, along the coast NE winds, 6-16, in the Velebit Channel and in the open sea at first still up to 20 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SW winds 6-16, locally at first still up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the Velebit Channel at first still 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, and along the coast of the North Adriatic with a risk of snow.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds strengthening to moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate SW, turning again to SE, along the coast to E winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic from the middle of the night increasing to slight and moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, and along the coast of the North Adriatic with a risk of snow. Precipitation expected to end along the coast late in the night.
