SYNOPSIS

The trough with frontal disturbance is approaching from the northwest, while a shallow low is expected to generate over the Ligurian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and SW winds 10-20, in places up to 26 knots. Sea 2-3, locally up to 4. Visibility 10-20, in places with mist possibly around 5 km. In the North Adriatic mainly cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly from the middle of the night. In the Central and South Adriatic fine or fair, but in the evening heavier cloud increas is expected, bringing rain late in the night.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong SE and SW, turning in the North Adriatic in the morning to NE, strengthening rapidly to strong, locally up to near gale force. Sea slight, in places up to moderate. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic. A risk of sleet or snow in the Velebit Channel around midday.
