SYNOPSIS

The weakened cold front is shifting across the Adriatic, while a ridge of high pressure is expected to intensify from the northwest and a low to generate over the Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and N winds strengthening to 14-28, toward the end of the day and during the night to 18-32, in places up to 38 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, during the night 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder mainly toward the open sea. In the Velebit Channel a risk of wind drifted snow. Air temperatures will drop gradually.

Strong and gale force NE and N winds. Sea moderate, locally up to rough. In places variably cloudy with a riskof isolated rain showers and thunder, sleet or a little snow, mainly toward the open sea. In the Velebit Channel a risk of wind drifted snow.
