SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE and N winds 8-18, south of Istria 12-22, and in the Velebit Channel at first up to 34, easing gradually to 4-10, toward the end of the day and during the night south of Istria to 6-16 knots. In the Central and South Adriatic NE and N winds 16-32, in places at first up to 38, easing toward the end of the day to 14-28 knots. Sea 3-4, in the Central and South Adriatic this morning possibly 4-5, mainly toward the open, but calming in the North Adriatic this morning to 2-3. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear, but in the North, in the afternoon and in the first part of the night elsewhere as well, passing moderate cloudiness.

Light to moderate, in the South and Central Adriatic moderate to strong NE and N winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic slight and moderate. Mostly clear with some moderate cloudiness only in the open sea.
