IN THE AFTERNOON AND THROUGH THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-60 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE OPEN DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 5. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. FOG PATCHES ARE STILL LIKELY AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

The trough with cold front is approaching the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

S and SW winds 6-16, in the extreme south of the Adriatic up to 20, turning in the North and Central Adriatic to NW 10-20 knots. In the afternoon NE winds strengthening to 16-32 knots, firstly in the north of the Adriatic. Sea 2-3, increasing in the afternoon to 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places at first still around 4 km due to mist, possibly even less than 1 km due to fog, mainly in the open sea and in the extreme north of the Adriatic. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, but clearing is expected in the north of the Adriatic late in the day.

Clearing will continue, but in the southern part of the Adriatic at first still scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Moderate to near gale force NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the open sea possibly up to rough.
