SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northeast, while a new low is expected to generate over the western Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in the open sea NW winds, 6-16, in places up to 20, and in the extreme south of the Adriatic up to 24 knots, dying away gradually toward midday. Sea 2-3, calming briefly in the afternoon. Visibility 10-20, but in the open of the North Adriatic this morning still possibly less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear, but gradual cloud increase is expected.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light SE, in places along the coast E winds, strengthening gradually to moderate and fresh. Sea increasing to smooth and slight. Cloud increase, bringing rain in places of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic in the second part of the night.
