IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST, STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE OPEN SEA OF NW WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS, EASING DURING THE DAY. SEA IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC UP TO 5, CALMING DURING THE DAY.

SYNOPSIS

The field of high pressure has intensified briefly over the Adriatic. A trough, in which a low will be deepening over the Ligurian Sea during the night, is approaching the central Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the Central and South Adriatic, at first in the Velebit Channel as well, up to 22, and in the open sea NW winds up to 30 knots, easing gradually during the day. In the evening NW and NE winds 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 4-5, calming gradually during the day. Visibility 20 km. Clear skies, but in the North Adriatic during the day and elsewhere in the evening, cloud increase.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Calm or light NE and NW, in the second part of the night E and SE winds, in the North Adriatic E and NE, strengthening rapidly. Sea smooth or slight. Overcast with rain in places, firstly in the North Adriatic.
