LOCAL GUSTS OF SE and E, IN THE NORTH AND IN THE GREATER PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC, AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH AS WELL, OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN SEA AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

The low from western Mediterranean will be shifting gradually toward the Tyrrhenian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E, in the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic NE 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 36, turning in the rest of the Adriatic toward the end of the day, and in a part of the South during the night, to NE and NW winds 12-24 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open and in the Velebit Channel possibly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. Overcast with rain, and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic, along the coast of the North Adriatic with a risk of snow. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic late in the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Strong and near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE, and toward the open sea NW winds. Only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still strong and near gale force SE winds. Sea slight and moderate, locally in the open sea and in the Velebit Channel possibly up to rough. Variably cloudy with rain and isolated rain showers and thunder particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Clearing is expected in the North Adriatic.
