SYNOPSIS

The field of high pressure lies over the Adriatic, while moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels. A shallow field of low pressure is expected to generate over the southern Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 4-12, in the South Adriatic at first up to 16 knots, dying away around midday. Toward the end of the day and during the night SE and E, in the Velebit Channel and in the extreme north of the Adriatic NE winds, strengthening to 6-16 knots. Sea 1-2, increasing during the night to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Along the coast mostly clear, in the open sea variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder.
