IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-50, DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 60, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS. LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH AND IN THE GREATER PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-55 KNOTS. LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS AND SEA UP TO 5.

SYNOPSIS

The low over the western and central Mediterranean is deepening and extending a trough with frontal disturbance toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds strengthening to 12-22, in the Velebit Channel up to 18, during the night to 16-32, and in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Elsewhere SE winds strengthening to 10-20, toward the end of the day and during the night to 18-36 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the end of the day 3-4, during the night to 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Heavier cloud increase with rain, showers and thunder. From the middle of the night a risk of more abondant precipitation, mainly in the South and Central Adriatic, and of wind drifted snow, mainly in the Velebit Channel.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds, easing a little in the morning. In the South and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic strong and gale force SE winds. Sea moderate and rough. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, in places with even more abondant precipitation, mainly in the South and Central, and in the North Adriatic with wind drifted snow, mainly in the Velebit Channel.
