LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 70 KNOTS. SOUTHWEST OF PORER LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE OPEN SEA, PARTICULARLY OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure from the northeast is extending a trough toward the Adriatic, while a shallow field of low pressure lies over the southern Mediterranan.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 14-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 36 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4, southwest of Porer late in the day possibly up to 5. Visibility above 20 km. Along the coast mostly clear, in the open sea variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force, and in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, southwest of Porer up to rough. Partly clear, in the open sea variably cloudy with a little rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. Air temperatures will drop a little.
