LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS. IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE OPEN SEA, PARTICULARLY OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending from the north toward the Adriatic, while a shallow filed of low pressure lies over the southern Mediterranean.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 14-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. Along the coast mostly clear, in the open sea variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, particularly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Moderate to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, locally moderate, and in the open sea of the northern part briefly up to rough. Partly clear, but in the open sea still variably cloudy with a little rain or isolated rain showers with thunder. Air temperatures will drop a little.
