IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT A RISK OF GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. VISIBILITY POSSIBLY REDUCED TO LESS THAN 200 METERS DUE TO FOG, MAINLY IN THE OPEN SEA THIS MORNING. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

The low over the western Mediterranean is extending a trough and frontal disturbance toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds gradually strengthening to 10-20 knots. Along the coast of the North Adriatic this morning still NE winds 4-14, in the Velebit Channel at first up to 22 knots. Sea 1-2, in the Velebit Channel, then elsewhere as well, 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places possibly less than 200 meters due to fog, mainly in the open in the morning. Fair, from midday gradual heavier cloud increase and a risk of rain in the open sea late in the day.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Mainly cloudy with rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, firstly in the open sea, from the middle of the night along the coast as well. Moderate to fresh, in places up to strong SE winds. Sea increasing to slight and moderate.
