SYNOPSIS

The low over the Ligurian Sea is deepening and spreading a deep trough toward the Adriatic, while a cold front is expected to shift across the Adriatic during the night.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds strengthening to 28-54 knots. Sea 5-6, in the open toward the end of the day and in the evening possibly up to 7. Visibility 5-15, in places with rain reduced to around 2 km. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder in places, particularly in the evening.

Gale and storm force SE winds easing firstly in the North Adriatic and turning to strong and near gale force S and SW. Sea rough and very rough, in the open up to high, calming gradually tomorrow during the forenoon. Variably cloudy with isolated heavier rain showers and thunder during the night.
