LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60, DURING THE NIGHT AND TOMORROW UP TO 75 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE OPEN SEA. SEA LOCALLY 4-5 IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOMORROW.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northwest, while a shallow field of low pressure is generating over the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Sea.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 14-22, in places up to 28, in the Velebit Channel 18-32, in places during the night up to 38 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with a little lower air temperatures and with a risk of a little rain, in the open sea with isolated rain showers with thunder.

Moderate to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic up to rough. Variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain and isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly toward the open sea. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic during the day.
