TOWARD THE OPEN SEA LOCAL GUSTS OF SE, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST OF NE WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE OPEN INCREASING TO 4. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC, THEN GRADUALLY ELSEWHERE AS WELL.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure from the European land is weakening over the Adriatic, while the low over the central Mediterranean is deepening.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E winds 5-15, strengthening to 10-20, toward the open sea up to 26 knots. In the North Adriatic at first NE winds 6-14, in the Velebit Channel up to 22 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing toward the open to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably and mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder in the open of the South and of a part of the Central, then gradually in the rest of the Adriatic. In the North Adriatic still mostly clear at first.
