LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS STRENGTHENING FIRSTLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TO 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE FORENOON STILL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, FROM MIDDAY POSSIBLY IN THE CENTRAL AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening, while a low over the central and southern Mediterranean is deepening again.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 22 knots, rapidly easing, while SE winds strengthening firstly in the South, then gradually in the rest of the Adriatic, to 10-20, in places up to 24 knots. In the extreme north of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel still NE winds 4-12 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing firstly in the south of the Adriatic to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear and warm. In the South Adriatic heavier cloud increase with rain, showers and thunder, gradually spreading to the Central Adriatic.
