ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE and E WINDS AROUND 35, IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC OF NE 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 TOWARD THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC AT FIRST.

SYNOPSIS

The low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is slowly filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is gradually intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 8-18, in places up to 24, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 34 knots. Wind will gradually ease late in the day and during the night and turn along the coast to NE. Sea 3-4, toward the open of the North Adriatic at first 4-5, but calming gradually late in the day. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic late in the day.

Moderate to fresh NE, in the open of the South Adriatic SE winds, easing gradually toward midday and turning to light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, locally in the open at first still up to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, but in the North and Central Adriatic gradual clearing.
