ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NE, IN THE OPEN SEA BRIEFLY OF NW WINDS, 35-55, IN PLACES THROUGH THE DAY UP TO 75 KNOTS, MAINLY IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL. IN THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF SE and SW WINDS 35-55 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5, MAINLY TOWARD THE OPEN.

SYNOPSIS

The shallow low with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE, in the open sea briefly NW winds, 18-32, in places up to 38 knots, mainly in the Velebit Channel. In the Central and South Adriatic SE and SW winds 10-20, in places up to 24, turning in the Central Adriatic to NE, in the open sea to NW, 14-28, in places up to 32 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, locally 4-5, maily toward the open of the northern part. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably or mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, in places possibly even more abundant. Partial clearing is expected in the extreme north of the Adriatic toward the end of the day.

Fresh to near gale, in the Velebit Channel at first up to gale force NE winds, easing gradually during the night to moderate to strong. In the South Adriatic moderate to fresh SE and SW, turning toward the open sea during the night to NW winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic today still up to rough. Variably and mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, in places possibly even more abundant. In the North, from the middle of the night in a part of the Central Adriatic, partial clearing.
