ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, THEN GRADUALLY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC. LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL, THEN GRADUALLY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC, 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC UP TO 5, CALMING DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

The cold front is shifting across the Adriatic southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure from the northwest is intensifying behind.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 40 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic mainly SE winds 6-16, turning gradually to NE and strengthening to 14-26 knots. Sea gradually increasing to 3-4, in the open of the North Adriatic briefly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Heavier cloud increase with rain showers and thunder is expected gradually in the rest of the Adriatic. Air temperatures will drop. Clearing is expected in the North Adriatic in the evening.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to near gale force NE winds will gradually ease and turn in places till midday to moderate to fresh NW. Sea slight and moderate. Clearing, but in places of the South Adriatic in the morning still cloudy with rain showers and thunder.
