WARNING

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. GUSTS OF NE WINDS EXPECTED TO REACH 35-45, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC UP TO 60, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The cold front has approached the Adriatic from the north and it is expected to shift across the Adriatic southeastwards and a ridge of high pressure to intensify from northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 36 knots. Elsewhere SE winds 4-14, turning in the Central Adriatic from midday to NE 12-26 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, in the open of the of the North Adriatic possibly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic rain, showers and thunder, but clearing is expected around midday. Elsewhere cloud increase and a little risk of rain, showers and thunder later on.

In the South, at first in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Elsehwere clearing. Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea slight and moderate.
