LOCAL GUSTS OF MAINLY NW, IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE ADRIATIC LATE IN THE DAY OF SE, THEN DURING THE NIGHT, FIRSTLY IN THE OPEN SEA, OF NW WINDS, EXPECTED TO REACH 35-40 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

The shallow trough is approaching from the west and it is expected to shift over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 10-20, along the coast this morning NE and E 6-16 knots. Winds will turn gradually, firstly in the North, then in the Central Adriatic, to NW 10-20, in places briefly up to 28 knots. In the southern part of the Adriatic SE winds will strengthen late in the day up to 26 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open up to 4. Visibility 10-20, in places possibly reduced to around 4 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate and fresh NW winds, in places briefly up to strong. In the South Adriatic during the night moderate to strong SE winds, turning firstly in the open sea to NW. Sea smooth or slight, locally in the open up to moderate. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
