SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north, but moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE winds 10-20, strengthening to 12-26 knots. Elsewhere NW, in places along the coast during the night NE winds, 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic possibly up to 4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South, at first even along the coast of the rest of the Adriatic.

Variably cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in the open of the Central Adriatic. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Elsewhere light to moderate NW winds, in the open sea possibly up to fresh, and along the coast during the night light to moderate NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the North Adriatic possibly up to moderate.
