A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY DURING THE NIGHT. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL A RISK OF GUSTS OF NE, IN THE OPEN SEA LATE IN THE DAY AND ALONG THE COAST OF THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC LATER ON, OF SE WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS. SEA POSSIBLY UP TO 5 IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

The low centred southwest of Sicily is extending a trough toward the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds strengthening to 6-16, from midday to 10-20, and in the open sea toward the end of the day to 14-24 knots. In the North Adriatic N and NW, in the Velebit Channel NE winds, 6-16, in places up to 20, easing around midday to 4-14 knots. Sea increasing to 2-3, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic late in the day to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Fine or fair with a very little risk of isolated rain showers and thunder along the coast around midday.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Gradual heavier cloud increase, bringing rain, showers and thunder later on, firstly toward the open sea. Moderate to strong, from the middle of the night in the open of the Central and South Adriatic up to near gale force SE winds. In the North Adriatic moderate to fresh NE and E winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the second part of the night in the Central and South Adriatic up to rough, mainly toward the open sea.
