IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. STILL A LITTLE RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TODAY, MAINLY ALONG THE COAST.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is gradually intensifying over the Adriatic from the north, while moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Mainly NE winds 10-20 knots. In the South Adriatic NW winds 5-15, turning in the evening to NE and strengthening all along the Adriatic to 15-25 knots. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 15-30 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel 3-4. Visibility above 20, but in the South Adriatic today still 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder. Clearing is expected in the North Adriatic in the afternoon and in the rest of the Adriatic during the night.
