IN THE NORTH, IN THE EVENING IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. FOG PATCHES STILL IN THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY.

SYNOPSIS

The field of low pressure over the Central Mediterranean is slowly filling up, while a frontal system is shifting further eastwards and a ridge of high pressure is gradually intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE and NW winds 8-18, during the day NE gradually strengthening to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the rest of the Adriatic SE and E winds 6-16, gradually easing and turning from midday to NE and NW 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 10-20, but in the first part of the day still reduced due to mist, or even to less than 1 km due to fog. Variably cloudy with a little rain in places, and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong NE, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force, spreading to a part of the Central Adriatic, and moderate NE and NW winds in the rest of the Adriatic. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic increasing to moderate. Variably cloudy with a little rain in places, and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder.
