SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic is gradually weakening, while a shallow trough is approaching from the southwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Calm or NW, along the coast NE winds, 4-12 knots. In the afternoon W and NW winds 4-12, in places up to 16 knots. Sea 1-2, locally in the afternoon possibly 2-3. Visibility 10-20, but in places possibly less than 1 km due to fog, mainly in the morning. Mostly clear, in the afternoon and toward the end of the day fine or fair.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light, in places up to moderate NW winds, easing in the Central and South, and turning in the North Adriatic to moderate, in the Velebit Channel up to fresh, NE. In the second part of the night in the South Adriatic light to moderate NE winds. Sea smooth, in the North, at first possibly in the Central and South Adriatic, up to slight. Fine or fair, from the middle of the night fair or mainly cloudy, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic with a little rain toward morning. A risk of fog patches, mainly during the night.
