WARNING

Local gusts of NE and NW winds 35-50, in the Velebit Channel up to 60 knots, diminishing tomorrow. In the extreme north of the Adriatic a risk of fog in places and of visibility less than 200 m. Still in the beginning a risk of a light isolated thunderstorm in the South Adriatic.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high is intensifying from the north over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 12-22, locally up to 26, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots, westwards and northwards of Istria up to 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and at the foot of Velebit possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km, in the extreme north of the Adriatic possible to be less than 1 km due to fog, in places even less than 200 m. Mostly clear, still in the beginning locally in the South Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of rain or a shower with thunder.

Moderate to strong NE wind, locally in the Velebit Channel also of near gale force, gradually diminishing to moderate to fresh, in the course of the morning to light to moderate. Sea slight, still in the course of the night in the open and at the foot of Velebit possibly also moderate. Mostly clear. A risk of fog in the extreme north of the Adriatic.
