WARNING

Local gusts of NE and NW winds gradually strengthening to 35-50, in the Velebit Channel up to 60 knots. In the extreme north of the Adriatic a risk of fog in places and visibility less than 200 m. Still in the first part of the day in the South Adriatic a risk of a light isolated thunderstorm.

SYNOPSIS

A through with frontal system is shifting further on toward the east while a ridge of high is intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds gradually strengthening to 12-22, locally up to 26, in the Velebit Channel up to 32 knots, westwards and northwards of Istria to 4-14 knots. Sea intensifying to 2-3, in the open and at the foot of Velebit to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km, in the extreme north of the Adriatic possible to be less than 1 km due to fog, in places even less than 200 m. Mostly clear, still in the first part of the day locally in the South Adriatic variably cloudy with a risk of rain or a shower with thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong NE wind, locally in the Velebit Channel also of near gale force while toward the open sea NW wind, in the second part of the night diminishing a little. The sea slight while moderate in the open and at the foot of Velebit. Mostly clear.
