SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic from the southwest, while a shallow trough is shifting further northeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Mainly NW and W winds 8-18, in the open sea up to 24 knots, easing a little late in the night. Sea 2-3, in the South Adriatic in the afternoon still 3-4. Visibility 10-20, during the night possibly around 2 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Partial clearing in the North, till the end of the day in the greater part of the Central Adriatic as well.

Moderate and fresh NW and W winds easing rapidly and turning in the North, in the morning in the rest of the Adriatic as well, to light to moderate SE. Sea smooth or slight. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic during the night and in a part of the Central Adriatic at first, still variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder.
