LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS ONLY IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING 35-40, IN PLACES OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE EVENING UP TO 40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE and E WINDS 35-45, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT UP TO 50 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5. A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC, PARTICULARLY DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

The low over the central Mediterranean will be slowly filling up and shifting toward the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E winds 10-20, strengthening in the southern part of the Adriatic in the afternoon, firstly in the open, to 14-28 knots, but easing in the rest of the Adriatic and turning to NE and NW. In the North Adriatic NE and E winds 4-14, only in the Velebit Channel up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places around 4 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, particularly toward the end of the day. In the northern part of the Adriatic mostly clear.

In the greater part of the Adriatic moderate and fresh NW and NE winds, in the Velebit Channel briefly strong, in places up to near gale force. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic strong and near gale force SE and E winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the southern part moderate, and in the extreme south of the Adriatic briefly up to rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder in the South and in the greater part of the Central, but mostly clear in the northern part of the Adriatic.
