IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE NORTH AND OF THE GREATER PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT BRIEF GUSTS OF NW WINDS UP TO 35 KNOTS. SEA INCREASING LOCALLY UP TO 5. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic is weakening, while a trough is approaching rapidly from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E winds 14-28, in places in the evening up to 32, in the South Adriatic up to 36 knots, and in the greater part of the North Adriatic mainly NE and E winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel during the night up to 24 knots. Sea 3-4, in the South Adriatic and in the open sea increasing to 4-5. Overcast with rain and snow, and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder. Air temperatures will warm up gradually.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Strong and near gale force SE, in the extreme north of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel moderate to strong NE and E winds, turning firstly in the open of the North and Central Adriatic to moderate, briefly up to strong NW, easing toward midday. Sea moderate, toward the open up to rough, in the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic calming toward midday. Overcast with rain in places and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, in the south of the Adriatic even heavier.
