IN THE NORTH AND IN THE GREATER PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NE, TOWARD THE OPEN SEA OF NW WINDS, 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE DAY STILL UP TO 70 KNOTS, EASING TOMORROW. ELSEWHERE GUSTS OF SE and SW, IN THE AFTERNOON OF NW WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS, EASING TOMORROW. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE OPEN POSSIBLY 4-5.

A low with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic NE, toward the open sea, south of Istria, NW winds, 16-32, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. Elsewhere SE and SW, turning in the afternoon to NW winds 12-24, toward the open up to 32, easing along the coast toward the end of the day and during the night to 10-20 knots. Sea 3-4, toward the open possibly 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably or mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder. Along the coast of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic sleet and snow. Partial clearing is expected in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day and during the night.

In the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic moderate to near gale force NE, toward the open, south of Istria, NW winds, and in the Velebit Channel at first still up to gale force NE winds, easing tomorrow before the morning to light to moderate. In the rest of the Adriatic fresh, toward the open strong and near gale force NW winds, easing along the coast to light to moderate, in the open tomorrow before the morning to fresh. Sea moderate and rough, calming in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic tomorrow to smooth and slight. Further clearing expected in a part of the Central and South Adriatic, only in the open of the extreme south still variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder.
