SEA LOCALLY 5, IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH ADRIATIC POSSIBLY UP TO 6. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

A low with frontal disturbance is shifting across the Adriatic further eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the South and Central Adriatic SE and S, from midday SW winds, 16-34, in places up to 40 knots, easing a little toward evening. In the North, then in a part of the Central Adriatic, NE, toward the open sea NW winds, 14-28, in places up to 32, and in the Velebit Channel up to 38, easing gradually toward the end of the day and during the night to 12-24 knots. Sea 4-5, in the open of the South Adriatic possibly up to 6. Visibility 10-20 km. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, along the coast of the North Adriatic with a risk of sleet and snow.

Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic from the middle of the night. In the South and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic strong and gale force SW winds will ease gradually and turn to moderate to strong NW. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong NE, toward the open sea NW winds, easing to light to fresh. Sea moderate and rough, in the open of the South Adriatic up to very rough, gradually calming in the second part of the night to slight and moderate.
