SYNOPSIS

A low over the Aegean Sea is shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 6-12, easing and turning in the afternoon to SE 4-10 knots. Elsewhere NE and NW winds 15-25, in the Velebit Channel and in places of the rest of the Adriatic, 25-35 knots, easing in the afternoon. Sea 2-3, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4, toward the Strait of Otranto 4-5. Visibility 20-30 km. Clear at first but gradual cloud increase is expected in the second part of the day. A little colder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Variably cloudy with a risk of light scattered rain or drizzle in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic, mainly toward the open sea. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic light variable winds, elsewhere at first and toward the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh NW winds, easing during the night. Sea smooth or slight, in the open, toward the Strait of Otranto up to moderate at first.
